Sure, you can use a jar of tomato sauce.
Or, if you are like me and didn't have any in the pantry, you can make your own.
I love my mini itty bitty food processor.
It's handy dandy.
I did have a can of organic diced tomatoes but my boys don't like chunky sauce so I thought I would just make our own.
SO EASY! I dumped half a can of diced tomatoes, a couple fresh basil leaves, dried minced onion, dried parsley, garlic powder, salt and pepper.
Delicious!
Spread on the pizza dough
Top with whatever cheese you like.
I used some sliced Muenster (or MONSTER as my boys like to call it) and shredded sharp cheddar.
Pop it into a 400 degree (F) oven for 10 minutes.
It's worthy of a birthday lunch at our house.
What's your favorite pizza topping?
