English Muffin Pizzas

These are such a classic childhood favorite!

My boys love them and even though I'm not mixing my protein and carbs normally, I will sneak one on occasion when I make them.

They are easy and good. So good.

Start with a good tomato sauce.

Do me a favor, read the ingredients.

Things to avoid (in my book):
High Fructose Corn Syrup, Corn Syrup, Sugar, MSG, words you can't pronounce, junk.

Pick a sauce with regular whole ingredients that you find in nature.  Tomatoes, Basil, carrots, peppers..

Better yet, make your own.

I like to use Ezekiel breads because they are made with sprouted whole grains and combined together, they make one whole protein.

Try a whole grain type of English Muffin or bagel.

Smear a bit of sauce on each half.

Add a few slices of cheese.

I happened to have Extra Sharp Cheddar which my boys love.

Bake the pizzas in a 350 degree (F) oven for 10 minutes or so, till browned.

Hot crispy goodness.

Serve with a crunchy side salad and you have yourself a nice little lunch or dinner, or snack without all kinds of preservatives and ucky stuff.

Arrivederci!

this is awesome, I have this for lunch a lot! I want to add another item to your mini-pizzas: Williams-Sonoma sells a pizza spice (a bunch of different spices blended together) that you can sprinkle on right before you cook it. The spices even smell like pizza. I think a small container is around $6. Yum!
